KDA - Dubetestzudemfalschengott
Monday, 12 March 2007
As some of you may have read already, DeutscheMusik.net reviewed a pervious K.D.A release ealry last year called 'Gift'. At that stage we were pretty sure that we were unlikely to hear anymore music, which was a shame as the music very impressive.
Then late 2006 we recieved word from K.D.A that not only was the band still alive but a new album was on the way. This made us all jump for joy and this was before we heard the music.

K.D.A is yet another side project by the boys from Tanzwut/Corvus Corax although this is Norri's project and it involves much more techno/house rock. It statred out as being only Norri's project but with the the new album he managed to recruit a number of his Tanzwut buddies to give a hand, such as: Patrick, Wim and Hatz. These are a very talented bunch of musicians and while this a new style for them, it's done extremely well.

The new albums name is "Dubetestzudemfalschengott" which means 'your-praying-to-the-wrong-god'. The first track is always crucial to an album and I think the choice of 'wollt ihr' as the opening track is great.
Do not expect any real singing in this album as it just would not work with this style of music. Norri himself provides the vocals and he does a very good job in ensuring that they match the pace and beat of the music.

This is an album you can definately see being played at a big dance party compared to a rock club. This isn't to say that there is no heavy guitars because there definately is. The songs 'leftright' 'memyselfi' shows Patrick's heavy guitar styles.
But there are some very catchy songs which do not rely so heavily on guitars such as 'geldistsexy' which just makes you wish you were in a dance party!
Each song is totoallty different to the previous so there is no worry of each song having the same beats and electronic noises. The band describes the genre as 'Electro-punk' which pretty much describes it exactly. I definately think its a vrey fresh and exciting project and I really like bands trying new things.

This is not a short album as each song averages around 4-5 minutes. But the intensity of the album does not fall during the whole cd, which means you could well and truely dance the whole album.

I would really like to see the band getting some airtime and club time with this album and I'd say if you could ever get to a K.D.A concert then by all means go to one as it would be a great experience!

So for any Deutsche Musik fan wishing to slightly expand their favourite genre's I definately recommend checking out K.D.A. This is a great album and can see them gaining a lot more fans with the release of this album. Just don't expect to hear any elements of Corvus Corax/Tanzwut in K.D.A as this is a project where each member is trying something completely different, all exposing themselves as very talented musicians.

My personal favourites are: 'Wollt Ihr', 'Walk' and 'You'
