I had posted this in the Rammstein FANAREA in an attempt to reach others in the Rammstein world; already acquainted with listening to Deutschsprachige Musik. Some of us have been fortunate enough & open-minded enough to discover other German bands outside of Rammstein.:ANYWAY... I think that the price is pretty darn good on this
Radio Goethe's German Bands Volume II so thought I'd mention it.
The CD is $5.00 + $3.00 s/h =
$8.00 USThat isn't half bad for 35 songs from some of Germany's better artists. Just think about it, otherwise you're closing yourself out of some great music that you'd never hear otherwise. (Sure you can sit there and download it all, but that takes time and isn't very good in that it isn't the 'chosen popular song' you will be hearing.)
And bear in mind that a profit is not made off of this Radio Goethe compilation album either!
Based in San Fransisco,
Radio Goethe's aim is to support the spread of Deutsch Music in North America (and worldwide)... So, believe it or not, it does have impact on Rammstein as well. The more accepted German music is in the States, the more accepting people will become over Ramms+ein.
Radio Goethe airs every Thursday night, 9:00 PM PST (12 AM EST) Radio Goethe magazine coming before it at 8:30 PM PST and can be heard on live-streaming audio via
http://kusf.org/index.shtml . Just down on the right-hand side I believe you will find the live-streaming audio link.
You can also download the week's differing broadcast to 14 other places across North America by visiting the
Radio Goethe website and clicking to download the broadcast in MP3 or Real Audio versions.
The music featured
(and someone can correct me if I am wrong since I am bad with labeling music); is mostly rock/punk/industrial/goth/darkwave/(sometimes pop) actually nearly anything modern and "hip". Stuff like Rammstein... nothing corny... no "
ooom-pa-pa" bands or anything that many Americans mistakenly think of when they hear "
I love German music".
Radio Goethe Presents German Bands Vol 2 It's a benefit Double-CD for the College stations that carry Radio Goethe. If you are interested in a copy, it's just $ 5,- (+ $ 3,- S&H). Send Arndt an email to radiogoethe@hotmail.com
(You can tell him Grieche sent you if you want) LOL ::wants a job promoting German music in America:: only problem is... I speak no German, yet.) :?
If you live inside the US Arndt accepts cash and (I think) check. If outside of the USA, paypal is the preferred method of payment I believe. Regardless, don't hesitate to email and inquire of him for this. He's really a great guy to 'talk' to.
