My first impressions about Janus 2005/08/04 15:33
Well well, finally i got some time to watch out for some stuff from
Janus. I don't think that many of you know a lot of those guys, but with good reason.

They have by far more text than an usual band, their music
is very text-oriented, the lyrics are extraordinary important.
Maybe without understanding what their cd's are all about you
will have trouble enjoying the music.

But i found it also VERY hard to even get their stuff.
Luckily, there is always ebay as a source , and
luckily again i just had some money over, and luckily third
i just saw some "buy now" Janus cds, that were just in on ebay for
some minutes. One of them was "Winterreise" what seems to
be an extremely rare item. I later read in the official Janus
Forum that it was sold for over 200 Euro last time (holy jesus!)
now i'm quite happy to have it here. Well i slightly knew it was rare,
so i bought it for 35 bucks, now i'm happy that i didn't hesitate to buy it...

So i have

"Isaak"
"schlafende Hunde"
"Hundstage"
"Winterreise"
and
"kleine ?ngste das H?rbuch" ('little fears')

Acutally the last one is only a hearing book, but it is underlaid with some short beautiful accustic melodies. It's absolutely awesome, it's about a very serious story. The little girl "Dolores" is getting abused by her father, what is never said on the cd, the hearer has to come alone to that conclusion, but you can tell it from her dreams and wicked stories of "shadow monsters", "tree women"and an huge ugly creature called "the collector"
It is an amazing piece of art, as it maybe allows you to get a short impression of the torment that poor girl has to suffer and how much child abuse destroys a life. The story really hit my heart, maybe it is only fiction, but... it really touched me. It really scares me that such things happen in reality, they never should!
