I agree that Silber's debut did not match "Zeichen". I don't really think anything can be that good... it's one of my top 3 albums. But honestly I don't really think Silber is intended to compete with Weissglut, either. The way I see it, they are 2 totally different bands. They might have the same members, but they are still two very different bands. Weissglut was very dark, whereas Silber has a lighter feeling but without losing too much heaviness in the music.
For Silber, eliminating the keyboards is not only a way that they are naturally progressing, but also a step to move away from their troubled past with Weissglut. I think the 2 new tracks sound like a nice progression from where they were with the debut, and they will definitely keep the fans they already have. But as F_GX said, it's nothing really groundbreaking. Even so, the music is still great to listen to.
