Pavor, Disillusion 2005/12/20 15:44
for people who like awesome, really heavy music from good ol' germany, i have two tips:

1st: pavor - from bonn; they play an extremely heavy progressive metal with a bassist you've never heard before hock:- he plays his 6-string bass with amazing speed & skill (without the band it would be free jazz  )
the rest of the band is also ...hmm, let's say KICK ASS!!!

2nd: Disillusion: - from halle; in my poinion even more amazing than pavor. the music sounds like ...how dream theater should sound like. it has all the good elements without the flaws. awesome! they manage to compose songs of over 15mins without getting boring or anything with extreme technique-skills. hock:

The Pavor site had no audio samples, but from the description, they sound interesting. I really liked the Disillusion samples though. Thanks for the recommendations!

you're welcome.

something about pavor... the singing is more like grunting, the drumwork is amzing and the rest of the band contributes to extreme heavinees.
well, the cd is called "furioso" and that's what it is, really!
quote from the booklet about the basslines: "Stay At Home And Practice"

Thanks for this!!! I can't believe it but I found a Disillusion album at our metal distributor's shop, the last one! It's only 8 euro, I'll go right when I have some money Great band though, I really really dislike progressive but this is more... wow, great

After checking out Pavor I'm pretty impressed. I quite like the music and the basslines truly are something out of the ordinary.
