History of DeutscheMusik.net
DeutscheMusik.net began its life back on the 13th of December 2003, in what started out as a only a small forum for fans of German Music to talk. The original name of the site was the Deutsch Music Forum. The forum was set up by Nick Wright - "Laichzeit" and the original banners were created by Christopher Omiros - "Grieche". The original address was www.deutschmusic.tk. Many fans quickly signed up to the forum to talk about their favourite German bands.

However, at this stage the site had a run of bad luck with bad hosting and membership suffered because of it.

In August 2004, it was decided to give the forum a new direction. A site was then intergrated into the forum to bring all the latest news in the Deutsche Musik world. Audio and Video downloads were made avaliable thanks to Jrgen Kratz - "Jrgen". The site name changed to "The Deutsche Musik Forum", only a slight spelling change. However, once again hosting troubles dogged the new site. By this time, I had decided to invest some money into my project. I paid for a good webhost and bought the domain name Deutschemusik.net.

The Deutsche Musik Forum then started to drive in the viewers. Membership started to increase and page hits took off in a big way. From only 400 hits a month in the old forum, the site was now hitting 15,000 hits a month. People were starting to use the site to promote new and unknown German bands.

Radio stations then came in on the act and two big affiliations with online radio stations, Radio Ohrekneifer and Radiyoo were set up and provided fans some music from up and coming music acts from Germany for free. The main aim from this site was to create a focal point for English speaking fans of German music to meet, talk and read the latest news on their favourite German bands all in English.

Then in December 2005 a name change once again took place. The Deutsche Musik Forum was to become simply DeutscheMusik.net as the former no longer really represented what the site was just about.

As the site's recognition became more well known, it opened up a whole lot of new doors fro the site. With this, the site was able to set up interviews with big names in the German Music scene including In Extremo, oomph!, KMFDM and Schweisser, with many more to come in the near future.

The future looks bright for DeutscheMusik.net and we will continue to strive to bring you everything you need in the way of Deutsche musik...
